Facebook has launched a new paid events options for businesses, creators, educators and media publishers to generate revenue online. Page owners have the ability to create an online event, price, promote and collect payment and host the event all in one place.
As stated by facebook:
“With social distancing mandates still in place, many businesses and creators are bringing their events and services online to connect with existing customers and reach new ones. People are also relying on live video and interactive experiences more when they can’t come together physically. In June, we saw live broadcasts from Pages double compared to the same time last year, largely attributed to broadcasts since March.”
Pages can also host events live, and facebook is still testing paid events with Messenger Rooms for a more personal and interactive gatherings. In order to support small businesses, and creators, Facebook will not be collecting any fees from paid online events for at least the next year. For all transactions on the web, and on Android in countries where they have rolled out Facebook Pay, small businesses will keep 100% of the revenue they generate from the online events.
With a huge increase in online shopping, Facebook has launched their Facebook Shop to make it easier for people, and businesses to connect with one another. Facebook Shop allows customers to discover businesses and shop for products in the Facebook app- making it easy for people to find, shop, and buy products all in one place. Shops was launched in May, and is now available to any eligible business with customization features, messaging and insights to help businesses measure results.
Customers can access businesses on both Facebook and Instagram through the Shops tab, and just like when you’re in a physical store and need to help, they’ll be able to message the business through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct to ask questions, get support, track deliveries, and much more.
A select few small businesses have been given access to test the new email marketing tools from Facebook.
The tool right allow businesses to upload contact lists and compose marketing emails. Businesses can send emails directly through messenger and track performances.
Facebook is still testing this marketing tool, but how great would it be to be able to send your emails directly through your Facebook page.
Following the launch of Reels for Instagram, Facebook has now also started testing TikTok-like short-form video feed in its main app with Indian users, where TikTok is currently banned.
With TikTok out of the Indian market, Facebook could replace that need for the 200 million TikTok users that are unable to access their TikTok accounts
